Ingredients

  1. 5 cups of water

  2. A piece of fresh ginger (about 2 inches long)

  3. 10 whole cloves

  4. 5 small or 3 large oranges

  5. 1 cinnamon stick

  6. 1/2 cup of brown sugar

  2. Pot

  3. Juicer (or you can squeeze by hand)

  4. Stirring spoon

  5. Strainer

Instructions

1. Start by peeling and grating your ginger.

2. Place the grated ginger, cloves, and cinnamon stick into a pot with your water.

3. Bring the combined ingredients to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow these ingredients to simmer for about 10 minutes.

5. While your spices are simmering, begin to juice your oranges.

6. After simmering, remove your pot from heat and stir in your brown sugar until it fully dissolves.

7. Add your fresh orange juice into the pot and stir well.

8. Strain your beverage to remove the spices and any bits of ginger.

9. Your beverage can be served hot, with a slice of fresh orange and cinnamon stick as garnish.
